Days 5/30

The first five days of my Thirty Day Challenge

Day 1

Began my challenge today. Decided on what to do really. I am going to run (jog) after school and write a piece of (fan)fiction everyday using something that has happened to me as a prompt. Also, as a result of the running, I’ll probably end up drinking more water as well. Hurrah.

I ran a particular loop that circles my block. I’m not used to running. It made my chest hurt.

Today’s prompt is ‘Breathing’

Day 2

Ran again today. Same rout. I have decided that I shall increase the number of laps I do throughout this challenge, every ten days. I’ll add a lap every ten days. I’m not a very strong runner. I have difficulty breathing when I run. I supposed I’m just not conditioned to it.

Also, our microwave is broken. Which means no heated leftovers for dinner. Damn.

Today’s Prompt is ‘Microwave’

Day 3

I forgot about my jog until quite late and was forced to do it in the dark. Quaint, quiet little streets look very frightening in the dark. I think it made me run faster. I also ran my loop in reverse. Don’t know if that made a difference or not. My calves hurt a lot and I feel really tired. Though, swimming was challenging today as well, so that might have something to do with it.

The guys at practice annoyed me today. We were doing team relays, but when it was their turn they would pretty much stop the race and wait for the other team to catch up so it was just a race between the two of them. Everyone (except them, of course) was quite bothered about it. I yelled at them for it and they looked at me like I was a stuck-up stick-in-the-mud before they shut up. But because of the relays, I’m pretty damn tired.

Today’s prompt is ‘Sportsmanship’

Day 4

I ended up jogging late again. Though it wasn’t nearly as terrifying this time. I know what it looks like in the dark now, so that helps. Also, I’ve been watching a lot of BBC Sherlock. So maybe that helped as well. I can pretend I’m running after criminals!

Field day was today and I spent two straight hours bent over the sidewalk in the sun drawing Sherlock sidewalk art. My neck is sunburned and there’s a strangely shaped burn on my lower back as well. Probably from where my shirt was riding up.

My calves are really sore now. I very nearly didn’t go today. I almost talked myself out of it. I swam after school, so I almost just counted that as my run. But I didn’t.

I really hope this gets easier as the days go by. Because as of now, I’m really hating this running business.

Today’s prompt is ‘Chalk’
