(no subject)
it is just after midnight & my belly is full of fine imported wines & meats. my glass is filled with ice & maker's mark. the pride of northern california glistens away in the freezer, ready to be put to flame. and there is basketball on the dvr. all in all, not a bad way to start a day off.
side notes: last night we watched the movie Hitman. now, i had initially assumed that this would be a complete & utter piece of garbage, but then i discovered that the Hitman was to be played by none other than Deadwood's own Seth Bullock. so i figured, let's give it a shot. do not be fooled, friends. i don't even know what to say. just don't see it, i'll leave it at that. it is blood-curdlingly atrocious.
i also watched Richard Kelly's followup to Donnie Darko, Southland Tales. i've been tracking this for a long time. i am a HUGE Darko mark. i enjoyed the ST prequel trilogy of graphic novels, though i was thoroughly confused. but the movie...Jesus. it is ALL over the map. i don't know what to make of it. is it a comedy? it's a satire, of sorts, i get that. but it just seems like WAY too many ideas have been shoehorned into this flick. i wanted to love it, despite all the bad things i had heard. but i totally hated it.
