Damn, sir. Clean fucking work here. What I enjoy about both pieces is that while you paint the pictures, I fall into them, as though memories that I had from a dream or somewhere else. The trick in convincing me that these things happened to me, that I was there, was pulled off without a hitch. Great work there. What I also enjoy about the first piece is that it draws me in slowly, and sends me back on my way, all the while drawing me in AS an observer, letting me know the intimate details of the chemistry between these two, but that my role here is just to behold. NICE touch, handled well. The particular thing I enjoyed with the second one is that I am immersed in this scene almost directly; it's painted around me step by step, layer by layer, so that by the time the line is delivered, I'm shocked to think "By god, am AM sitting in this parka, smoking, drinking this beer." The way the second one drops in layers is what I appreciate. Stacking, stacking, stacking...and yes, it's all a painting. What I appreciate with the first one is that very quiet, and more linear, threadlike tide pulling me in -just so- and drawing me back out just as gently.
