And, I notice

Hi!Drama sent a reviewer to Ore, or Or. Naturally, the review won't be on TV till Sunday, the day after we close. 10:30-11:00 AM on Time Warner Ch.67 or RCN CH.85 or www.mnn.org. I've asked Tony to DVR it for me, so I can make a transcript of the review.

Penultimate performance tonight at 6:30!!! I think we get some mollyx, wonderpanther, Susan Rankus and Mo action! I've heard lots more people are coming. Hope we sell out, seems likely, and that would be awesomesauce.

Maitely sent me info on the private reading of Sleeping in Tomorrow she's hosting (June 17th, the day after we open Suckers). Her friend Mitch is organizing it, and, after reading the play, insisted on reading the role of Michael himself because he loves the script so much (from his website, not who I would have cast in the role, but what the hell, it's a preliminary reading). Looks like Sam will be in it as Jeremy; and Craig and Eddie as Alfredo and Georgio - don't know anyone else in the cast (aside from Maitely, of course).

Discovered at Suckers rehearsal that Jared has never heard of LOLcats. Sent him the link to I Can Has Cheezburger?, though really what he was doing was hilarious, purring and putting his paws up in the air.
Also, later in the scene he cuts his finger and Alan (playing a vampire) sucks the blood out of his finger- I don't think anyone (not even me) realized just how erotic that was going to be till it happened in front of us. Good lord, that was mesmerizing. God bless the straight boys for just jumping right into that.

Kirk Read (whose gay book award ceremony I went to) invited me to something through Facebook. Wish I could go to San Francisco- this sounds fascinating:

Army of Lovers presents "Formerly Known As," two nights of art, video and performance by 20 men who've worked in the sex industry. Kirk Read curates this festival, featuring male sex workers of different ages and backgrounds, bringing together a group of people who often operate in isolation from one another. You will hear true stories about hustling in Pershing Square in the 1940s, the kidnapping fantasies of a professional master, porn shoots gone awry and transguys pioneering new sex work markets. There will be storytelling, naked performance art, music and video.

All people are welcome.

Co-presented by the National Queer Arts Festival, Sex Worker Fest, Army of Lovers and the Center for Sex and Culture.

Hosted by Kirk Read

Lights and sound wizardry by Jerry Lee Abram

Center for Sex and Culture, 1519 Mission Street near 11th

Tickets are $10-20 sliding scale, no one turned away
