Cinco de Mayo WHOOOOOOOOOOOO
Tony Nominations announced. Wow, some slim pickings this year. Glad [title of show] got a nod. Hooray for Hunter! Frankly surprised nothing for the music.
Am very blah about the Tonys this year. Might not even watch.
Tonight is first tech for Ore, or Or. Very exciting. Have first drafts of programs prepared for people to look over.
Last night got to playwriting group, though I'd expected I wouldn't. Ken read some of his ex-improv-partners-in-love piece, and
carasol read the first page of a piece inspired by
the Don Stephenson letter debacle.
We ran over time, gossiping, which was fine with me, since I didn't have much time to kill before heading to EATfest's pay-what-you-can invited dress for the shows they're bringing to Dublin for the Gay Theatre Fest.
Two of them I'd seen before- J. Stephen Brantley's
Break and Chris Weikel's
Pig Tale (they did two very well-chosen scenes from that last night, but they'll be doing the whole thing in Dublin), as well as Kathleen Warnock's The Adventures Of... , which I'd missed in a previous EATfest, and which was adorable and funny. Jason Alan Griffin was in the first and the last. Got to see a bunch of nice people- the aforementioned, and also Wayne, who said he's very excited to see
ceebeegee in my play. Also met Hunter, who starred with Jason in the other two plays- had seen him in a lot of things, but we'd never met.
Got home and designed another draft (hopefully final) of the postcard for The Imaginary Invalid: By Prescription Only. Waiting to hear from producer of that.
And, this from The Onion News Network made me laugh really hard:
