Yay weekend!

On Overheard in New York again. carasol, catseurat, and dry_2olives, ladies and gentlemen.

Awesome weekend. Met darksheik and alexlady in Hoboken, and we drove to Mom's.
Saw mom's newly-fabulous kitchen:

Mom made Spaghetti Carbonara (my favorite), and we tried to help alexlady get her jewelry tagged with prices. Bruno (the dog) helped by attempting to eat all of the tags in one gulp.

Went to the Faire around 11 to see alexlady's setup - she was under the big tent, which was awesome.

It was awesome that she was under the big tent because the people who had little tents were often blowing away. I was very excited by a company selling T-shirts, and as I went up to buy one, their tent started to blow away. I helped them wrassle it to the ground and secure it, and got $5 off my t-shirt purchase for my trouble! Good Samaratin Win!

We also got funnel cake. Mmmm.

Got home and the rain made me pass out. when I awoke, Mom and Linda had gone to the store, so I watched Robin Hood: Men In Tights On Demand. Man, LAME. Some folks recently tried to make the case that that movie, not Spaceballs, was the last good Mel Brooks film. To that I can only say they are deluded. There are some amusing moments (and the GENIUS bit of an R&B reprise of Marian's song over the end credits), but on the whole, yech.

Mom made Nasi Goreng for dinner, which was super-tasty.

We made a fire, which pretty much smoked up the living room.

alexlady's friend Michael came for a visit.

Next morning mom made eggs & peppers, then we hopped in the car and drove home.

darksheik and alexlady headed off to DeBaun to see the final performance of Secret Garden, and I met up with Tony to see Redmoon Theatre's Hunchback, a puppety Hunchback of Notre Dame. Some of it was acrobatics, some was Commedia masks, some was puppetry. Interesting stuff. Everyone dies, as in the original story.
At the end, the little 6-year-old blonde next to me breathed- "Oh My God".
My first time in the New Victory. Nice space.

Went back to Tony's place, where Peter fed us Paprikash, and we watched an episode of The Amazing Race (I am all about Andrew and Dan, the Jewish Frat Boy Geeks, despite having the most recent The Boy from The Fantasticks in the show). Then went to some Broadway Benefit that Tony had lent some of his mask collection to- one of the dancers from In The Heights was choreographing a hallowe'en dance piece, and borrowed some masks from Tony. We collected them, ran into Tony's padawan Kevin, and then we both headed to our respective homes.

Heading out to see Bronwyn's cabaret show tonight.
