Zero Derivation

So, [Media Conglomerate] is no longer affiliated with one of our companies. We've been given a new phone number to give out for people who ask for it, and if you call their old number, there's a recorded message directing people to the new number.
I had a guy call this morning because the new number is going to a pizza place.
I tried it and it was fine. He tried again. Pizza place.
Bizarre.

Everyone keeps sending me and posting about the NYIT Awards survey that I filled out months ago. So, obligatory shout-out: If you work in Off-Off-Broadway Theatre, go fill it out- October 12th is the deadline.

Someone on another blog asked: "When you use for example a noun as a verb (or vice versa) or a verb as an adjective etc... like Shakespeare does in many of his plays... what is the word for that?"
A quick Google search for "Verbing Nouns" led me to discover it's called "Zero Derivation". I especially like the Calvin and Hobbes shout-out in the Wikipedia article.
I need to use more anthimeria in Dandelion.

Gal's Bad Hair Daze

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - A Connecticut judge has given the brush-off to a blond woman's lawsuit claiming L'Oreal Inc. ruined her social life when she accidentally dyed her hair brunette with one of its products.

Charlotte Feeney of Stratford says she can never return to her natural blond hue, a shock that left her so traumatized she needed antidepressants.

She says she suffered headaches and anxiety, missed the attention that blondes receive, and had to stay home and wear hats most of the time.

A Superior Court judge dismissed Feeney's 2005 lawsuit Monday, saying she never proved her allegation that L'Oreal put brown hair dye in a box labeled as blond. The company also had disputed the claim.

Bolding mine. So, she had less fun, I guess.
Hair Shock- where is the funding?

Weekend stuff is piling up- Friday seeing Bedroom Farce with Jared, Saturday Cartoon Brunch (where I'll get to see lots of awesome people, but especially adam22772 and _sara, who are driving in from Vermont!), then going with darksheik to see him in The Laramie Project. Sunday evening seeing paladincub21 (who's in town from Chicago all weekend) at Marie's Crisis. I'll miss meeting drood (who will be in town from Michigan), since I'll be at Laramie. :(
