Wikipedia's
list of wartime crossdressers I thought I'd posted this, but
carasol said she hadn't seen it:
The Laugh-Out-Loud Cats Playwrights group was okay last night- most of it was just us venting about our lives for half an hour, then we read a little.
After that, dropped by my old apartment to pick up some mail that had been still delivered there. Including my rejection letter from BMI. Woo. It was a huge envelope, which got my hopes up, but then it turned out it was just that they'd returned the plays I'd submitted to them.
And another rejection: of Hold Thy Peace, Thou Knave from a 10-minute play festival.
Was kinda bummed, coming back in from Brooklyn, but "Jeanette's Showbusiness Number" from The Full Monty popped up on my ipod! and cheered me a bit. Then I met
carasol and
mollyx at the TONY Lounge for Michael James Roy's one-year-in-New-York open mic night. Night was fun, sang a few songs with my ukulele. Some great singing, some crap singing.
mollyx did an hilarious "Adelaide's Lament", and
carasol did a "Hold On" that gave me goosebumps.
Then
carasol and I rode the train home together.
