Producer Sprint, Night 1

Aug 31, 2008 10:08

Forgot to mention on here that we saw Christine Baranski after our tech on Friday. Patricia, Chris, and I were walking to the subway, and we were waiting at the corner, and this SUV pulls up at the light; I was all, "Wow, the woman in the back seat really looks a lot like Christine BaraOH MY GOD, THAT'S CHRISTINE BARANSKI", Patricia and Chris heard me and we all started bouncing up and down shouting "WE LOVE YOU!". She noticed us, smiled and waved, then the lights changed and she drove off.
Then I had to explain to the thug kid in front of me who she was (he said he recognized her face, but didn't know from where- I was charitable and didn't mention Cruel Intentions or Mamma Mia! first.

Deposit check from ex-roommate finally arrived in the mail. Covered in stickers and with glitter in the envelope. Hate her.

Show went great last night. We met an hour early at a rehearsal studio in Shetler, then ran the show there. Then I suddenly realized I'd forgotten the programs at home, and my wonderful cast threw money at me so I could take a cab home and back (which happened in 30 minutes), and so we had show programs.
House had about 10-11 people; carasol, Andrew, Patrick, Susanne and Bob, and I think everyone else was Sam's family (who drove in from Philly). Very responsive audience, great to have. Actors did great work.
Show is very short, but the audience members I talked to agreed it feels like a full evening.
Suzanne and Bob were very complimentary. I suggested they do a Producer Sprint themselves.

I expect we'll have a bigger crowd tonight- many people have told me they preferred the Sunday night.

Went out to Cancun with carasol, Andrew, Patricia, Eric, and Heather. Had margaritas and food - Mmm, mole chicken. Then some of us went to Circus Bar for cheaper drinks (after picking up Patricia's man, who'd just gotten out of work).
I left around 10:30 to go see Adam Shapiro's show at The Duplex, only to get there and discover (from Poppi) that the show was actually at 10pm, not 11, and I had missed it*.
So I went back to Circus and had more beer with the gang before heading home.
Sam had said he'd catch up with us after dinner with his parents, but he didn't.

* Chris S. wrote on my Facebook that he thought it was at 11, also, but he luckily went to Marie's beforehand where someone set him straight as to the time. Maybe a Facebook glitch that said it started at 11?
