The Things to Say During Sex Flowchart Went to see the
Booth and Pat last night. Laughed my ass off. Hmm, everyone keeps calling them The Smothers Brothers on various drugs- maybe they should have The Booth and Pat Show. That could KILL on YouTube.
Was randomly seated next to
Justin, who I haven't seen in ages (he told Patricia that he knew me through friends and I had reviewed him very well, and he "loves me"). Justin and I were talking Ukuleles, and Patricia was delighted to discover the word and concept "
banjolele".
Also saw Chris from
City Hall there, as well. Chris was all, "So, how do you know these guys? Oh, you probably know Pat through City Hall..."
I said, "No, I know about City Hall through Booth, remember?" I'd nearly forgotten, myself.
carasol,
mollyx, Myriam, and Debra were all at the table in front of us.
Afterward Chris asked when I was going to put him in one of my shows. I said, "when you audition... you're on my e-mail list, right?" He said no; I said I was sure the e-mail I had for him was on there- turns out I had his City Hall bookings E-mail; he gave me the real one.
Debra was all drooling over Justin, and I suggested she go for it, since I think he's single.
Then Patricia and I headed uptown for our tech. I was a little confused that there was no one there to welcome us or anything, but I called Mike Roderick and he said we could just go ahead and tech, and to ask the Shetler office folks if we had any problems. So we did. Shetler dude was as clueless as I about how to turn the sound & lights on and stuff, so once I determined he didn't have any helpful information, I sent him away and did it myself.
Was very pleased that I figured out the ipod hookup on my own.
Ran the show twice, did some running of the transitions. Discovered that the song I'd chosen for one of the transitions, "Why Me?" by Yazbek, actually got to the big moment where the song just stops for a measure... so, inappropriate transition music. Have changed it to Nickel Creek's cover of "Spit on a Stranger". I considered "Optimistic Thought" by Blues Traveler, but decided it was too message-on-the-sleeve. So that's audience-leaving-the-house music.
I love doing tech through ipod! - it's so much easier to change and rearrange.
Rehearsals went well, though Chris blanked on an important line the second time around. Covered well, and eventually made it through. May actually incorporate the cover into future drafts of the script.
Bought tighty-whities for Sam, as he doesn't usually wear them. He said he was waist 31 - Small was 28-30, medium was 32-34; I bought 2 packages at Conway, and thought he could decide. He tried the Medium first, but his balls kept falling out, so he went with the Small. We gave the mediums to Eric, since they fit him.
Sam looks good in tighty-whities.
Have booked space at Shetler for rehearsal before the show tonight, so we can just wander down the hall to the theater afterward for the show. Convenience!
May be brunching with
carasol at Guadalupe this morning, if she texts me back.
