Long night
Hey woo, I got an e-mail that "Hold Thy Peace, Thou Knave" is a finalist in a 10-minute play competition! Fingers crossed.
Indiana Jones Review/Snark
Last night it was raining and gross, so I skipped out on the TOSOS II reading I had planned to see and slept instead. Then went out to Ukulele Cabaret to see planga as emo boy Garth Haines. It was highly entertaining.
Gio's girlfriend Diana came in after I did, and suddenly realized that Garth was Chris- she thought it was awesome, "I was like, 'who's that douchebag in the corner?' OH, it's Chris!" Gio got the Garth Brooks reference right away.

Khabu was there and did some pretty stuff. Mary Martin was doing an experiment of drinking tequila and cranberry juice(!?), and then periodically getting up to perform progressively drunker. She seemed to hold it together pretty well.
Then actress_in_nyc showed up (damn trains made her late), and we went to the bar where Mike, Mark and Emily said the other night we should go for this birthday party. The place was called X ES and was your standard Gay Lounge. We didn't see anyone we knew, though we walked through the place. Lots of guys looking at me & actress_in_nyc like we were the straight couple who wandered in by mistake- we cemented that opinion by immediately walking back out (admittedly to call Mike & co to find out where they were). Seriously, we were there an hour after the party was to have started- we thought we were fashionably late.
We found out they were eventually going to be on their way, so we went back in and sat at the bar, and lo and behold actress_in_nyc knew the hot bartender, who she hadn't seen in ages, and they got to catch up.
Eventually Mike showed up with his girlfriend and his hot brother.
Eventually eventually Mark showed up.
It was all very weird and kinda boring, since we didn't actually know the birthday boy. Mark apologized later, saying he'd expected the party to be more interesting. The high point for me was Mark and Mike comparing bellies.

Then I remembered that Kevin was bartending at Mr. Biggs, so after I hit on Mike's hot brother (and was shot down for reasons of heterosexuality) actress_in_nyc and I headed over there. I texted Tony on the way, saying that he was probably asleep (it was 2am), but we were going to be at a bar literally across the street from his house.
When we got there, karaoke was almost over. :(
Kevin said I should have told them I was a friend of the bartender, but I don't like to namedrop. Kevin brought us shots, one called a Water Moccasin, and one called "Kevin's Purple Nipples". Turns out what with us knowing bartenders everywhere we went, actress_in_nyc didn't pay for a drink all night, and I only paid for a few.
So we stopped off at a pizza place on 42nd on the way to the train, and they said it was their last night open. Aw.
Tony texted me a couple of hours ago that he JUST got the messages, but he WAS awake last night, and was sad that he didn't know we were out and about.
Tonight, I'm off to review a show (son_of_ottie is coming along), and then I'm going to catch neoscribe, defy_gravity99, and mollyx performing together out in Queens.
