Or Washington Crossing her Derrière

_chandra sent me this picture of an awesome Dorothy Parker tattoo.

Kasparov speech interrupted by flying penis. Was Eva Gebloomenkraft on the premises?

Went to playwrighting group at Ken's place last night- now his weird-ass roommate has moved out, they've repainted her room- it's all white and airy now. Read the first act of mollyx's Foxy!. Nice to see Tania, who I haven't seen in a while.

New genre: Blaxsploisubtlety?

After that, headed over to Marie's Crisis, where Jim Allen was playing. Saw Blondie John, who said he was heading over to the TONY lounge to hear Michael play- I said maybe I'd drop by there later, since the Marie's crowd was a little nutty (as soon as Jim stepped up to the piano, he had two queens insisting on "I've Written a Letter to Daddy". I do enjoy his medley of that, where we sing that in counterpoint with "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down (And Write Myself a Letter)". We also sang "Lydia the Tattooed Lady", and some other fun stuff. There were some Swedes there (though no chef), who asked for Abba, but they were happy to hear anything.
Other patrons included Big Mark and a pushy girl who asked for so many songs, you'd think she was a cute boy. ...and then talked through Chess when Jim Allen finally played it. And asked for Grey Gardens and then didn't know the words. HATED her.
Eugene, late of BroadwayWorld, showed up with some of his Gay Men's Choir buddies. He seemed excited about Prince Trevor when I told him about it.
Jason was the waiter- haven't seen him in ages; apparently he's been busy with college.
Stayed for Jim Allen's sake, for a while because it was Just So Sad, then headed up to New World Stages. Got there JUST as Michael was finishing up. I forgot they stop there around Midnight. Stuck around for a bit, chatting with him and Ace, seriously flirted with Michael a bit, and was possibly semi-shot down... We'll see what happens when I see him on Wednesday.
Heading home I ran into Ace and his friends in the subway, and he and I chatted all the way to 14th street. He gave me his card so I could send him some of my plays.
He was all "You know I work for a company that publishes plays, right?"
I said, "I know, you still haven't got me the score to On the 20th Century". And he said he just gave it to Tall Crazy Tom, so I expect to have a copy soon! W00t!
And I said that I'd sent in a copy of The Wastes of Time and they weren't interested, and he said that was a couple of years ago; there's been a staff turnover there, might be worth it to try again. So I'm sending him some plays.
Think he was also flirting with me- I think he's cute, even if he does overuse the word "Ridiculous" (meaning "impressive", e.g. "Jennifer Hudson? Her voice is Ridiculous!")
He and Michael also said they have 4 episodes of the Out Of Tune podcast that just haven't been uploaded because Michael's been lazy and depressed about the bad show he's having to musical-direct. And they're doing a live one on June 14th. ...Which is the birthday party date for me and actress_in_nyc. Maybe we should change the party to Friday the 13th? Usually I eschew Friday Night Parties, but The 14th seems to be a busy night for lots of people. I also somehow left Jim Allen off the invite list, and it got back to him and he was disappointed.

Staying home tonight.
