Lots of weekend.

Happy birthday kellygirlnyc and fings!!!!!

Friday tossed some stuff in a bag and went out to Jersey with my ukulele. I was a little nervous about doing the band thing for Art House Late Nite Curiosities, since last time it was just me and David, but this time we were adding Roland and Tom.

We'd been told to dress up funky. David was rocking this outfit. Most of my costumes were in storage, so I tried on whatever I'd grabbed. Poofed my hair up silly, slapped on some makeup. My eyelash glue was too old and gross to work, so I had to eschew my fancy eyelashes and just went for the Elton John glasses.

Show was fun. Turns out Roland had family issues and couldn't be there anyway, so David and I did what we did last time, and Tom just followed us on drums. Rocked out some nice music. First show went well, though the audience seemed more into the acts than our music.
The acts were great- The Label Reader started things off, then Trish did this strange thing where she said "Yes" and "No" many different ways. Katherine did a strip tease dance, where she was wearing signs that said "my life", "my loves", "my passion", and gave them out to people in the audience. It was hot. I ended up with "My Loves". A hot guy did a song about his ex-girlfriend. And Bioluminescence did her thing. It was a good show.
Second show was the same, except for Howard who showed up between shows and did a drag Fellini Little Mermaid number in a very revealing outfit- he was hot.

Stuck around for a bit afterward and flirted with Howard. He gave me his card.

Didn't get home till 3am, and I was starving, so I made some food and went to bed.

Saturday afternoon I got a text from actress_in_nyc to ask if I was coming out to see her in Instant Shakespeare's Love's Labours Lost. I got my ass in gear and went out to the library (which is that beautiful building near the 9th St. PATH stop, which I hear used to be a nunnery).
I arrived right on time, only to discover that it had been postponed by half an hour, and one of the actors (Oliver Conant, who was in Elizabeth Rex) had an unexpected matinée and might have to leave, so I might be going on in his place.
Went and got some coffee nearby and ran into Edward on my way back. We exchanged pleasantries.
So then we did the show. I played Longeville, one of the lovers, as well as Holofernes, a pedant, who had lines like "The deer was, as you know, sanguis, in blood; ripe as the pomewater, who now hangeth like a jewel in the ear of caelo, the sky, the welkin, the heaven; and anon falleth like a crab on the face of terra, the soil, the land, the earth." Also tons of Latin. I think I did okay for never having seen the play or script before- scored some laughs. But then, Did someone order a LARGE HAM??!
actress_in_nyc and I got to have a couple of scenes together.

Went out to Benny's Burritos afterward wiith actress_in_nyc, Rob (who was running the day's show), and Anna (who I'd recently seen in Ryan's Edward II).

Went home and got a half hour of sleep, then headed out to Queens for mollyx's birthday party. That was tons of fun, though it took me a while to get there, on a bus. Friends were there, food was yummy, drinks were cheap, and it was a nice time. Cake was delicious. Met Booth's girlfriend, who seems remarkably quiet and shy for someone who's a) dating Booth and b) just won a MAC award. A few pictures from there.

wonderpanther and walltack kindly drove me, darksheik and alexlady home (along the way we had a hilarious conversation about an imaginary West Side Story where the Jets were deaf and the Sharks were blind- our stomachs hurt from laughing so much) to D&A's new abode, which is beautiful. We settled in and watched some Tivoed Saturday Night Live. I've never seen this Shia LeBouef person before, but I think I'm in love. And what the hell? SNL was actually a little funny:

Spent the night on the couch and had bizarre dreams that a superhero organization was trying to contact me so I could save the world.

Sunday the three of us woke up early and took lots of pictures of the kitties (new ones at the bottom), then drove out to Somewhere, NJ to a delicious Indian Buffett, where we met Mom and the kids and alexlady's mom. Great food (mmm, gulab jamuun), though the servers were a little pushy, wanting to get us out of there so they could seat more people. Pictures of the day
Had a nice lunch, then Mom drove me home- she had a box of liquor and some sheets that she'd wanted to give me at Easter (since they're moving in a couple of days) but I didn't have room for in my bag. Mom and Claire came in to pee and seemed to like the place. Wyatt of course barked up a storm, but was immediately flooded with dog lovers.
Managed to stay awake long enough so I wouldn't go to bed early and wake up at 3am. Made a risotto to kill some time.

So, a long but awesome weekend.
