Hey woo, more leftover Valentine's Day candy in the office break room. Mmmm, Special Dark.
There's a new commercial with Derek Jeter, where he says fans like to watch [him] "in slow-mo, fast-mo; any mo there is". Why, Mr. Jeter, I'm a 'mo.
So glad I don't have to go to the Baruch Performing Arts Center anymore (the 3 plays in the EAT series were there). Not that it's not a lovely space, but it's on 23rd and Lex, which is a pain in the ass to get to from places where I usually am.
Went to Marie's last night after the show. Saw Paul briefly, but he was on his way home. Saw Katie- told her how excited
ceebeegee is that they'll be working together in Fare for All, and she was very touched. She hung out much of the night. Mark was there, and was very touchy-feely with me. I guess now that we've sung Pippin together, we're much closer.
Franca was SO happy to see me. It was a fun night. Since I hadn't seen her since 2007, we were all "Happy New Year!".
mistersmearcase came by around 10. It was nice to meet him in real life. Nice guy. He only stayed about an hour and a half (he doesn't know many musicals, but I got Franca to play A Chorus Line for him). After he left, Mark and Katie were quizzing me about him, assuming it was some sort of date thing. I explained it wasn't.
Sang a terrible "Lost in the Wilderness"- messed up the words, forgot how it went. Sheesh, I'm out of practice on that one.
Discovered Hottie Jason is actually a heterosexual! This explains so much.
Louis was there- I told him I won't be at Ukulele Cabaret again this month, so not to go if he was expecting to see me there (he went last month and was disappointed).
We actually made it through "Your Fault" from Into the Woods, with almost no mistakes.
Tall Crazy Tom came in and of course attempted to nuzzle my ears. He also asked if I'd gotten the score to On the 20th Century yet. I pointed out that it's Piano Adam who claimed to have it, and so I've sic'd TCT on PA.
Lots of Rocky Horror late in the evening. Franca doesn't have "Rose Tint My World", but another guy and I started singing it, and she tried to follow along- did a remarkable job. We got to "Don't Dream It, Be It", and she got lost- I said, "It's 'Heart and Soul'- C, Am, F, G*", and we continued on.
Ended up explaining my hospital drama to the whole bar. Drunken Samantha, as I was leaving, said, "Hey Duncan, I'm glad you're better". I barely even know her.
Stayed till about Midnight-thirty.
Staying home tonight. Gonna clean the place, now that I have batteries for my new Swiffer Wet.
* I know, "H&S" is C, Am, Dm, G.
