Short entry, cause I've got work to do.
Cref and Kyle's reading was entertaining. Got to see Jess, which was lovely. We need to get together for coffee, he says.
He was reading opposite this hottie guy named
Arol, who played the Benedick role in a very stylized manner. I kept hearing echoes of
Zap Brannigan, but when I asked him, he said he was aiming for
Captain Hero. It worked rather well for the character, though he was in a different play than everyone else.
Luther (as Borachio) and Luther (as Leonato) were both in the cast. We had a little Hudson Shakespeare reunion. Nice to see them. They send their regards.
Also hot dude named Anthony in the Don John role.
Cref has grown a little goatée. He joked that he was trying to keep up with me.
The adaptation's interesting and mostly very good, though it needs a little bit of tweaking to make it totally work. Plus there was beer and wine. Didn't get home till past Midnight, even though the A train mercifully went express when it got to my neighborhood.
This
Overheard In New York is mine, but I didn't sign my name because I didn't want everyone to know I was at the Times Square Olive Garden. Yeek! My reputation!
Going to see Issa (aka
Jane Siberry) tonight at Joe's Pub, thanks to
barkis. Very excited- I've never seen her live!! I love her.
Probably gonna meet up with Tony afterward- we haven't hung out since before Christmas Carol!
