Warrant there's vinegar and pepper in't

Elana from Playwrighting Group has got a pretty new website.

Just got Abigail's book in the mail. It looks very nice. She inscribed it "To Duncan, With gratitude for your part in telling it like it is! In pride, Abigail Garner, Aug 2007". I've read a little bit so far, and it's groovy. Interesting, she describes herself as a "culturally queer heterosexual" because of how she was raised- I've always felt somewhat culturally lesbian.
I'll pass the book on to you, darksheik, if you're interested, when I'm done.

Last day at work was nearly tearful- everyone was so happy with my work, and I was so happy with them. Best Temp Job in a while. They said they'll request me next time they need a temp. I said I'd be glad to come back any time. Linda said she couldn't have made it through the last 2 weeks without my support.

After work I went over to Tony and Peter's, and we had dinner at Ollie's. Mmmmm.

Then I went to my producer's meeting with KNF, which was only about 15 minutes long- they wanted to be sure, even though it's not an Equity Showcase, that I am following the Equity rules regarding nudity (The Director's Company, their Off-Broadway partner, is Equity, and they didn't want to run into any problems). They'd copied out the section on Nudity from the Equity Showcase Code for me to look over. I was like, "Dude, I have done this before". They also wanted to make sure, since one of the exits leads into the hallway of the office building they're in, that there wouldn't be any naked people in the hallways. Not a problem.
We also looked at the space- I requested a "Hell" light special, and it looks like they'll have no problem putting that in for me. Shaweet.

Then I headed back to Tony and Peter's, where we watched a bit of Burn Notice (which I rather like, much to my surprise. Mmm, Bruce Campbell) before Tony and I up and went to Brooklyn to see The Hobo Got Too High. Ran into Eytan from Camino Real and Eric, our 2nd Sir Toby from 12th Night. Ran into Eytan first, and we were early, so he, Tony and I went to Alligator Lounge and had beer and free pizza (it's owned by the same people who own Crocodile Lounge in NYC). No skeeball at this one, though they do have a bunch of video games.

Then we got to the theater, met up with Eric, and saw the show. As I said in my last entry, turning the air off just before the show starts is never a good sign. I'm glad I'm not actually reviewing the show (I just have to rate it on NYIT's website). It was Bukowski Lite, about a guy who does a lot of drugs. It was, rather predictably, a romance gussied up with Tarantinoesque trappings. Some of it was very good, but on the whole it was irritating (not least because we were sweltering after 2 minutes). One nice thing was one of the actors who played a recurring hallucination of Marvin Gaye. He was awesome. And the girl who played all the women in the guy's life was also really good.

Took the G train home- the first time I've done that. It wasn't nearly as bad as I'd feared. Tony went home to Manhattan. (The G train runs between Queens and Brooklyn and is the only MTA train that doesn't enter Manhattan at all- it's notorious for being slow and bad). Eytan rode with me.

Got home to an E-mail from Tony inviting me to spend the night at his and Peter's place this weekend between shows, rather than hop between Brooklyn and 55th street. I think I will. He suggested a movie tonight- I'm gonna try to talk him into Stardust.

We were supposed to come to 12th Night early this morning so that Aldo could go over his blocking/role etc. (though not with Ben again, since Ben won't be there- he told Eric that he's coming to the last show (Eric's also coming to the last show, for solidarity and after-drinking)).
So Aldo E-mailed ceebeegee and actress_in_nyc that he was doing a shoot last night and didn't get home till 4:30am, so he'll be at the space at regular call time. Glad actress_in_nyc E-mailed me, livid, since I wouldn't have known otherwise. Guess I can take my time this morning; hooray!
Edit: ceebeegee called after I posted this entry to let me know I didn't have to show up early after all.
