Friday after the work thing, I went uptown to rehearsal. It was at Where Eagles Dare again, and as I was paying Emileena, she said, "By the way, is this yours?" She handed me a piece of paper with scribbling on it, which I realized was mine - I'd toyed with the idea of entering the
American Idol song contest, and the piece of paper was my preliminary notes for lyrics.
She said, "I thought it was yours, because it was really good. I kept it, because I wouldn't want to lose something that good".
I guess I should have entered the contest.
Rehearsal went well. Went home afterward and slept like a dead log.
Saturday we had our choreography rehearsal. Hana came in and did some great stuff with
alexlady's "Good Bad Man" and my 2 duets with Nick.
Went home and got read for the Murder Mystery party. I got my corn chili together, fixed up my costume, then headed out. The party was fun. It was me, Glory, Orion, Chad, Jordana, Maggie, Renée and Michael. I had assumed that Michael was Mike Roderick, but it turned out to be Renée's cutie friend Michael, who didn't remember me, though we've met once or twice, most recently at
Ain's birthday party. Of course, he didn't remember Maggie from Ain's party, either, so maybe he just doesn't remember people.
Everyone had great old west costumes, but I took it over-the-top by going shirtless with my beaded necklace and giant feather headdress. I figured out whodunnit, even though I missed two very clever clues.
Maggie was asking if I'm seeing anyone, and asked if I wanted her to set me up with someone. I said that most of the time I don't let straight people set me up, but I suspected she'd be good at it. She was very touched by that.
She asked what I liked physically in a man, and when I said I appreciate the short guys, she was all, "really? How do you feel about red hair?" Um, yes please- so she has this friend she's gonna maybe send me on a date with. We're both playwrights apparently, which could be weird, but why borrow trouble? More on this in future.
Chad, later, offered to set me up with someone, too- "No, you don't understand- I know rich foreign guys!".
Chad is doing a show that Glory's directing; they were auditioning songs from 1980-1984 for it, just playing them in the background. Jordana and I know way too many of the words to "Footloose". Chad was practicing his air guitar for the show. He said we all had to come; I asked if he was going to be naked in it; he said no, but he'll be in underwear at one point. Renée said, "Air guitar and tighty-whities? I'm there!".
We sat around after the party and had dessert and drank and talked till about Midnight. About half the crowd went home; the other half went out drinking elsewhere. I went home.
Went to music rehearsal today, which went well. We nailed down a lot of stuff that needed work.
Was supposed to hang out with Tony tonight, but I am exhausted and may sleep instead.
