carasol took me with her to a cabaret she was reviewing at Don't Tell Mama's -
Michaela Leon doing songs from the Weimar Era. She talked a little about the specific performers who originated the songs. It was pretty awesome, though I wish that each costume piece she put on didn't rub up against her lavaliere mic. I wish I spoke German, since I clearly missed some of the jokes. I also wished I like girls, 'cause she was clearly super-hot.
Then we went to Westway Diner and I had
awesome food. We hung out there for a couple of hours, lingering over hot beverages, waiting for
The After Party to start.
Then we went there (I hadn't been since Brandon and Ray left the Duplex). It was pretty neat. The place was packed.
Elizabeth Stanley, who plays April in the
Company Revival, was the special guest, and she rocked the hizzouse.
Brandon and Ray were hilarious as ever.
mollyx met us there and showed us pictures of Li'l BCS. He's smiling now!
Sang "Lost in the Wilderness". I think it went well. There was a young man (in blue gingham and a coral sweater) that Brandon was macking on, who was sitting right down in front of the stage. When I sang the line "...running as we hit the ground", he and his tablemates made little running motions with their hands. I nearly giggled.
Next time I go, I should bring some Jacques Brel.
Got home, and discovered that Grace had found my UPS package and left it by my door upstairs. Yay!
Waiting for the cable guys to show up. They're supposed to be here between 8 and 11. I had planned to sleep till they arrived, but some fucker was, naturally, honking his horn outside at 7am.
Then lunch with
barkis, then home to collapse before the
Snow Ball tonight (for which it apparently actually snowed!). Have decided to wear my black suit with one of my red shirts, black tie and cummerbund. I should be quite dashing.
