[Accidental Voice Post]

*A crashing sound, and then a child starts to cry.*

Ddefnynnais 'i!

[End Voice Post]

[ooc: The Welsh means 'I dropped it!'

Following suit of others, he still knows everyone he's supposed to know in the City, except now he's four years old. All replies from him are voice!]

[A sleep-roughened voice calling from the stairs]

...That had better not have been the Ming vase. Aunt Erma will throw a fit.

[Still crying, and backing away from the expanding puddle

Although it's from a glass of water, not an expensive vase.]

I d'no Auntie Erma.

[Padding down the stairs to investigate, looking a rumpled mess]

She's the one with the hairy wart on her chin. Or maybe that Eustace. Hell, I can't tell them all apart.

Which cousin are you, kiddo?

[Sneaks a peek. Kyle isn't shouting at him for dropping the glass.]

I d'no.

[Gives a lazy grin and reaches for a tea towel to mop up the water.]

I meant your name. You can't be from Dad's side, they're all American. Must be from Mum's.

[About to answer in Welsh, but Kyle seems to like English better.]

M'Iantojones.

[Said as one whole word rather than two. His accent is rather heavy, much more so than his adult self.]

[Pauses in cleaning up the mess to scratch his head. It's too early in the morning for him to decipher the accent of a mumbling kid.]

I'm not sure I can say that.

[Ianto blinks. Is he being silly?]

Yan-toe-joe-nes.

[He says helpfully. Maybe he doesn't understand?]

Yan it is then.

[Making an executive decision. Also applying the tea towel to the front of Ianto's shirt.]

They've all gone off and left us, whoever you belong to. For gossip at the nail salon no doubt. And all the men will be trying to one-up each other in showing off the cars if they haven't already moved on to brandy.

It's just you and me and whatever other cousins got left behind for now, so no crying for mum and dad. Got it?

[Raises his arms obediently so Kyle can clean him up. But then...

Shock and outrage! Did he just call him a baby name?]

No! Not Yan! That's a baby name! I'm a big boy, and I'm Ianto.

[At the mention of his parents, Ianto shook his head.]

No, my Da died and me mam is in Wales. Far away.

All right, all right short stuff. Ianto, then.

[Laughs a little and ruffles the self-proclaimed "big boy's" hair.]

And I'm Kyle. And whoever's taking care of you...well, I guess that would be me now, until everyone gets back.

[Shakes his head a little.]

It figures. You avoid the relatives all night and they stick you with babysitting in the morning.

[Nods] Ianto Jones. Hello!

[Obviously in a better mood now, reaches to take Kyle's hand.]

Let's go finding Jack.

[A wee Jack was down in the lair being fascinated by the guns. He knew he wasn't supposed to touch, Daddy had been very firm about that but he was looking!!]

Let's go to find Jack.

[Automatically correcting. He holds the grubby little hand easily.]

Who is Jack, anyway? Another cousin?

Jack is a boy an' he's bigger 'an me.

[Sort of ignores the correction]

He's down the stairs!

[By bigger, we meant five! It was cold downstairs and wee!Jack had tugged on the big, warm looking coat he'd found hanging in the office. Of course, in tugging it down off the very tall pole, he'd pulled the pole over and broken a lamp.

Oopsie!

Still he now had the coat on and was crawled up on the table where he could better look at the big guns. The one gun looked like some sort of ray gun, it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool!!]
