Voting
Everywhere I go I see "Rock the Vote" and "Register to Vote" stuff. I only have one question...
Why?
In our lifetime, very recently, we were proven that our votes do not matter. Yet every other year, we hear all this stuff about Voting, how important it is, why everyone should do it. I don't get it. Even worse, our choices! Everything is lumped into two candidates. What the hell? I think both sides are crazy for different reasons. I refuse to pick between the lesser of two evils. Both are destroying important things, but in different ways. It is like choosing between getting shot in the head by different guns. End result is still not good!
Would I rather the economy be wrecked as we try and make everything even, or rather science and technology be constrained by bondage to outmoded ideas and illogical thought? That isn't any choice to make, when both could so easily be achieved! It is obvious, right there, in front of people... and they choose not to take it, but rather continue to scream at each other in inconsequential "I'm right" situations.
There are no innocents. All of us, by action and inaction, make the world what it is.
General humanity has proven itself incapable of even pseudo self-rule. Again.
