I just realized, we're going to be saying "21st century" for another decade at least. That kind of sucks. Remember the 90's? It was clear, defined, something you could say easily mentally grasp. 21st century, that's kind of long, not as easy to wrap your mind around, a little too vauge.
But what are we supposed to say? Welcome to the 0's? Welcome to the 10's? Nobody is going to say that. It sounds so stupid. The Twenties we might be able to get by saying welcome to the 20's, but for those of us who lived in the 20'th century, that will get a bit confusing. These damn kids will be saying things we won't get, or worse they'll annoy us. Our generation is missing out on a whole level of slang that just passed us by.
That is kind of sad. Almost makes you want to be frozen for 10 years so you can enjoy it.
On the other hand, I don't know if I ever said it anyway, so I'm probably not missing out. BUT, I did just waste a bit of time you won't ever get back.
So that was fun.
