I'm in Verona, Italy!

Apr 13, 2007 00:20

So apparently I’ve been supposed to write a journal entry every day, as apropos to my “homework” while traveling throughout Europe. Well, I’ve been writing one about every four days or so, so far, so now I have to make up stuff to write for every day as if I’ve been always writing one every day. As for posting it to LJ, I’m not going to post every little stinking detail every day, so I’ll only post if it is something big and important.

Today we arrived in Verona, and after last night, I slept most of the bus ride. When I was awake, however, I did get a few wonderful shots of the Alps, which were simply impressive. As I told another traveler, they’re like driving through Tennessee or Missouri, but wonderfuller. The Alps are simply grand and amazing, and if I’ll probably post some more pictures on here if I can get my brain to focus on one task at a time for long enough.

The hostel here is simply amazing. Especially compared to the last one, this one is basically a hotel. Apparently, these hostels used to be monasteries or convents but were converted to hostels when the religious order or whatever could no longer afford it. So they’re always clean and cheap, etc. It’s great, and there’s a lot of room, and better yet, the internet is cheap! But as I’ve not been on it yet, other people have said it’s sort of hit and miss with the quality of the connection. In any case, I’m not worried one bit! The dinner here was quite nice and they served us plenty of wine all around, so a lot of us are a bit tipsy and we were fooling around - I was climbing underneath the beds earlier - and some are settling down to watch a movie, and I’m here writing this and taking it easy for the night. Also, if I write those other, past entries, I’ll feel a lot better about being able to have fun while I’m here.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what’ll happen when I come home, and what I’ll do, and such, and I guess that my mood about it is on and off. Sometimes I’ll be really enjoying Europe, like right now, and other times I’ll be constantly thinking about people back home, and can’t wait to get back and get back into the groove of making money and getting on with my life, etc. Part of that is also wanting to get back to London. I really miss it, and I’m already planning a trip back there, but I just don’t know when. I could organize it better if FaceBook weren’t so dumb with its new “layout.”

And as it turns out, I won't be able to post more pictures just yet because photobucket isn't working ... I'll have to figure it out later.
