I don't even remember the last time I updated, but i'll probably check after I post this. So quick recap of stuff...Classes are kicking my ass, but I think im managing to pull up most of my grades. 19th birthday was great, really layed back, went to dinner with the family-- got new speakers, a camera, geta sandals, movies, and guitar hero.
Yesterday at 4:30 I got on a bus for DC to see the Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival. What I didn't realize till the bus filled up, was that I knew only 3 other people on the trip. So I was exhausted and tried to sleep on the way down. I ended up falling asleep on the girl next to me a few times, and felt really bad cause I didn't find out till later. (Sorry Kristin!) We got there around 830, and it was raining. It rained ALL DAY. Well a bunch of people from the trip were in the opening parade, including the few people i knew. I carried Kunaka's bag down to the tent where they were keeping all of the stuff to get after they were done with the parade. So I ended up watching the parade from 11th and Constitution. It was the most inefficient parade ever, not to mention IT FREAKING NEVER ENDS. A group of police color guards came down the street, then like 20 minutes later more police came down the street, and then 10 minutes later the first group of people in charge of taking care of the came down the street. Long story short, there were huge gaps in between each group in the parade. Well finnally when the drumming group with the PSU students in it came, I decided to follow them down the parade route. I ran into 4 kids I recognized from the bus, but had no idea who they were. They took pictures of the people in the parade, and decided to follow them too. I asked Justin where the parade ends, he had no idea. So i just kinda followed them. I didn't really have anything better to do, but they were all like "why is this kid following us?" Eventually they realized I was on the trip, and things were a bit less awkward. But it was just kinda funny at the time. Other than the weather the trip was really fun, definetly glad i decided to go. I met a lot of really cool people in the JCS. But all the people in japanese 110 make me feel soooo stupid, because of the huge difference in Japanese knowledge. I had fun, and i'm looking forward to next year. Pictures should be up in facebook soon.
