Maybe I take this shit too seriously...
...but just once, I'd like to see one of these "vengeful ghost of someone wronged by the [town|county|summer camp|nudist colony]'s founders returns to wreak havoc upon their descendants" movies end like this:
Our hero/ine steps up and confronts the thing. Instead of coming up with some mock-clever way of destroying it by adapting modern technology to the mythology, s/he just yells, "What was done to you was a crime and it never should have happened. But we didn't have anything to do with it, you stupid, STUPID fucker!"
In a poof of self-doubt, the ghost disappears forever. End of movie.
