catching up

the wedding on sunday was spectacular! talk about the most perfect day to be out on Natural Bridge - and i'm SO glad that tegyrius and elalyr are happy as both of them deserve to be =)
tracker7 did a wonderful job conducting the ceremony (how appropriate is it that were were 'conducting' there ceremony, eh? did you notice the caboose at the rest stop just off exit 33 on route 11 by any chance? there's a cache there :p) and kinesys provided some funky, groovin music that EVERYONE could enjoy. well done to all.
was also great to catch up with hillthug and his wife(? right? am i speeding things up or did i just forget?), golden (was great to catch up with you on the skylift down, even if we were mostly talking about our possible deaths if the chair sent us plummeting below... :p) and what a surprise to see andrew and jessica there with little leah and the newest addition jenna! all in a fantastic day and i'm SO glad i was able to be a part of it.
i got home LATE that night and slept VERY soundly. on monday hb_merlot (who is my hero) helped me out with some car work that was needed before the trip - we found the burnt out fuse for the electrical accessories which means that all my power sources work in the car now, not just one. he also replaced my drivers side light bulb which had blown sometime last week (DON'T TOUCH THE BULB!), and helped me to change the oil and to break two out of the 5 screws on one of my skid plates - hey i broke the first one! you had to be there - too funny.
i love working on cars - preferably my car - and this was fun AND productive.
also last night i got to see girlhair and shawn (sean?) one last time before i leave lexington - they came over with some yummy chicken pasta and we provided some ravioli, bread, and green apples that i think I was supposed to cut up and mess with, but peoples got to talking and i totally forgot about them until girlhair started pelting people with apple slices. After food, i picked up tulip_in_yellow, had a most wickedly delightful car ride over, then joined the crowd to watch FIDO and eat the yummy baked apples'n stuff.
... FIDO turned out to be quite kitchy and campy which was fun, but not as funny as i had hoped for - that was totally my fault as i kept expecting it to be as funny as 'shaun of the dead' and i should have known that simply wasn't possible. if you ever watch it and can't take that much of it, do yourself a favor and at least make sure you get to watch chapter 14. we actually watched and re-watched it several times after girlhair and shawn left. best part of the entire movie!
after the movie and apples it was time to bring tulip_in_yellow home and for another fun conversation on the way back - i'm so glad we got this shred of moment to hang out and dish a bit... i'm looking forward to the update from yesterday's event and to keeping in touch with the future in our own style of doing so :p
today i've got to take care of some cache maintenance and some caching to see what i can clear up here in town. tomorrow will be spent on some more caching and then some final tweaking of the trip plans as well as packing and such - then thursday i'm off to Nashville!
