I'm going to be out of town from today until Monday, December 1st. This means I probably won't be responding to comments, e-mails, or PMs as I won't have regular (if any) internet access. It also means I'm going to have to catch up on my commenting when I get back, so I apologize in advance if I overlook anyone's Super Awesome Entry Of

But, I don't really need to speak privately.
Well, I've asked just one other person for help when it comes to Sims stuff, and frankly, they were helpful, but only to a point. Which is bittersweet, haha.
And what your title says is from John Saw That Number, right?
I'm actually listening to it right now.
Okay, off track, lol! :D
Well, I've got S2Deluxe, (which has NL,) Uni, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, and then for stuff, I've got Teen, H&M, Ikea, Kitchen & Bath, Celebration, & Glam.
I am completely lost when it comes to downloading things for them.
I'm on a Dell Inspiron Laptop w/ Vista.
Like I said, I am completely lost when it comes to downloading things, because I can't seem to understand how to work it. Oh, another big thing, even using WinRar, my computer seems to hate rar files. Or, the fact that I don't know how to use WinRar and no one seems to want to explain it. Ugh. Lol.
Sorry for the rant, LOL. I really hope you can help somehow, or at least point me in the right direction!
:D Thank you for being so very kind! :D
I'm Lauren! :D
*I use smiley faces too much lol. :P*

When you download something, custom content goes into your Downloads folder, which should be automatically generated by your game. If not, create it by going to E:/My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2. Just create a folder entitled 'Downloads' and be sure to include the capital "D". Because you have the Nightlife Expansion Pack you can also create subfolders in your downloads folder. If you want to see an example of my crazy sub-foldering in my downloads folder, I made a chart here.
Custom content when downloaded comes in two types: .package files and .sims2pack files. Package files merely need to be placed in your downloads folder in order to work. Sims2pack files need to be installed via double-clicking the icon and following the installation instructions given by the default Maxis installer. However, I suggest using Clean Installer to install any .sims2pack files since it allows you to preview exactly what custom content is included among other things. You can check out exactly what it does at the website, there's extensive documentation.
As for downloading things in general, WinRAR allows you to process .rar and .zip files which are just compressed archives of files. You can find the free trial version here. To extract a file, normally I want everything in the .rar so I just right-click the icon of the file and a submenu pops up with the option to 'Extract here...'. I select it and WinRAR will automatically extract all the files in the .rar to whichever folder the .rar is located. You can use the WinRAR trial version pretty much indefinitely.
Other utilities can also allow you to open .rar files, like IZArc if for some reason you don't like WinRAR. This website has some handy information on what exactly a .rar file is and how to open one.
This guide at Mod the Sims 2 explains how to download custom content way way more thoroughly and in probably easier to understand terms than I've given. It's what I read when I first started playing and downloading CC.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask me, I'll do my best to help. :>

But when I try to extract sims files it says 'not implemented'. It shows the stuff inside but won't work when it comes to the actual game.
