So, today I went for my consultation for the WLS. It wasn't quite what I was thinking it was going to be. However, it was a nice experience. How long will you be on 800 calories a day? That's...wow. That's starvation level :(

Not long at all. Maybe... like, 3-4 weeks. I'll be on vitamins and such. The low calories is due to having mostly liquid diet there for a bit.

I actually found out today, that, for my body just to LIVE I need 2103 something like that, calories per day. That's just to be in a coma, doing nothing but breathing and pumping blood... and staying fat.

People underestimate how many calories they actually need to live all the time. For most people, in order to lose weight, they have to go on essentially starvation diets. And no one can keep that up forever -- without, ya know, dying -- so the weight comes back rapidly.

Definitely. I understand all that. They actually did a test on me to see how many calories I would personally need, it wasn't just an arbitrary number. Don't you worry sweetheart, they aren't going to let me starve to death.

I shall have ice cream in your honor :) Because I just can't imagine having that sort of surgery unless it was screwing up my blood pressure or blood suger or something...How long is your recovery time?

Well, from what I understand, recovery time will be 2-4 weeks.

Hmm. That's not too bad. I always double my recovery time, because I always take twice as long to heal with my er, special, immune system :)

Yeah, you know, one of the REALLY good things about these doctors is they specifically asked me if I had certain problems, like my Fibro, they asked before I even mentioned, they asked if I had PCOS... all these things they are aware of!
