mccain politics

While I was getting background information on a dish I plan to list on Ebay, I found an interesting sight with lots of articles. Very liberal. Not sure what to take with a grain of salt, and which are being told without embellishment. However, considering the commercials I've been watching approved of by McCain, I'd be more likely to believe this paper than those commercials.

What really gets me is that people honestly watch the commercials and believe they have any basis in fact. Because the TV stations would never accept money to play something that isn't true, right? I mean, I know both McCain and Obama are going to be making statements that aren't always based in fact, but it still aggravates me. I especially hate the fear ads. Trying to scare the American public into voting a certain way. Sick. Especially when it works. I wish morality, integrity and honesty were winnable strategies. Too many American voters insist on believing what they're told by strangers (a friend of a friend that talked to the neighbor of the neice who personally knows the chauffer to the brother of the candidate sort of thing), rather than taking the time to actually listen to the candidate. It's like the rumors that Obama is Muslim, when in truth he's a Christian. Yet because the uninformed would prefer to read and trust anonymous e-mails, rather than listen to the actual person it refers to, they believe a lie, and vote based on that lie.

Now there's a book out filled with the lies that were spread around on the Internet through malicious e-mails, with new lies added in, so it isn't just a rehash - are the American people going to allow themselves to be taken in by it? I sure hope not.

Must we prove the fear mongers right, in treating us like idiots, because we let them?

Okay, rant done. For now.
