This is probably tl;dr for anyone casually glancing at the journal, but I wanted to type this out for both my own benefit and for mun knowledge as to how I play this version of John since movie verse seems to be more common. If anyone has any questions or input, I would love to answer.
Name: St. John Allerdyce, prefers to be called John
Alias: Pyro
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 150 lbs
Eyes: brown (yeah, in the comics they're blue but Johnny Depp in Secret Window had that perfect disheveled writer look that I wanted)
Hair: blonde
Power: Pyro can mentally manipulate fire, but he cannot generate it. He cannot be harmed by any fire that he is controlling, and can cause a fire to grow or shrink in intensity and take any form he wishes. His fire formations have greater solidity than normal flame. He can however be harmed by fire that he is not controlling, and must see a fire within a 100-yard radius of him to be able to do so. Once he turns his concentration away from the fire, it will revert back into its original shape, but by then the flames are usually burning by themselves and cannot easily be extinguished.
Physical Description: Pyro is handsome, but a bit frazzled looking. He has short but shaggy dark blonde hair that can sometimes look brown. How well he takes care of his hair depends upon what mood he is in when he wakes up in mid-afternoon. Pyro can range from being very meticulous about his hair and how he dresses while other days he rolls out of bed with locks of hair standing in every direction and not caring about his physical appearance.
He walks with a confident, yet aloof manner and hardly ever looks where he is going being under the impression that people should move for him, not the other way around. His face usually wears an expression of apathy, though he also enjoys grinning to imply that he knows something that others don’t if only for his own amusement.
While working with the Brotherhood his red and yellow uniform is made of a flame retardant material with a flamethrower strapped to his back. The uniform fits snugly around his entire body, leaving no loose fabric to catch fire easily. The facemask area leaves holes open for his hair, eyes, and bottom half of his face. When not in uniform Pyro dresses in stylish, yet casual clothes. Heat doesn’t bother him, and no matter what the weather Pyro likes to dress in long sleeved shirts, jeans, and either leather boots or sandals.
Psychological Description: To the casual observer and those he keeps on an acquaintance level Pyro tries to convey the image of someone reasonably friendly, if a little materialistic and chatty just to hear his own voice. He speaks with a noticeable Australian accent and has a habit of raising his voice's pitch at the end of a sentence to make it sound like a question. Despite his front, there is always a level of mental instability boiling under the surface. Usually his nervous ticks seep through in conversation in the form of incomplete thoughts and sentences which sometimes only make sense during his inner thought process, but not out loud.
It is when he loses his restraint in keeping his own version of normalcy when he snaps and becomes irrational or violent. While these times are most common during periods of high stress, they have occurred at unbidden moments. Adrenaline inducing activities also cause him to blur the line between excitement and violence, which makes him unrelentingly ruthless during a mission with the Brotherhood. While in this state he cannot think clearly and can be very dangerous to those around him. He also often forgets that he is not invincible and sometimes bites off more than he can chew in a fight.
Pyro enjoys manipulating fire, and many times can be found idly playing with a lighter without realizing he is doing it. He also loves to use his powers on other people, and usually needs little reason to do so.
While Pyro knows that there are other mutants much stronger than he, he still remains inescapably cocky with regards to his powers. He is not extremely calculating or brilliant, but can still be quite intimidating in a bullying type way, using his pyrokinesis as a means of intimidation. He is very skeptical and does not trust others easily though one who will always have his respect is Magneto. Pyro looks up to him as a father figure, and in his eyes Magneto is who every living mutant should strive to be like.
History: On profile, will probably fill in gaps as I go though I'm most likely not going to do the Legacy Virus thing because, you know, I want my character alive. Imagine that!
