Really one new Kindle and some refreshes.

A new flagship e-ink, called the Kindle Voyage.  It has optional sensors on each side of the device that can be used for turning pages, an optional auto-light sensor, 4 gb of space (which translates to about 3 gb for users), and it's a little bit smaller and lighter.

I've got such a longing for that Voyage. It looks so fantastic. Expensive, but really sleek.

I'm with you. $200 is steep.

And why didn't they put page-turn buttons on the entry level Kindle?

I'm with you on that. My Kindle Keyboard died in spring, and because the old Kindle Touch was the only version with comparable capacity (and not a watered-down tablet), I very reluctantly bought a refurbished Touch.

I knew I'd hate the touchscreen, and I do -- SO inconvenient, especially for going back, I constantly call up dictionaries and whatnot by accident, sometimes I just shift my grip and change pages or whatever ... and never mind the waiter I had on vacation who thought it hilarious to swipe across my Kindle's screen in passing when I was reading during breakfast. Nothing happened with my basic Kindle, of course, but still!

Wish they'd include a function to automatically reset a book or document to the beginning once you've finished, instead.

Yeah, well, things don't work like that in Europe -- even if I'd complained to the resort management, all he'd have got would've been a reprimand, if that. As it was pleasure reading, not business, I'm certain they'd have regarded it as a harmless (if annoying to me) tease/prank, and probably rolled their eyes at the whiny tourist behind my back. At best, I'd have ended up with an apology and some free drinks ... which was moot at an all-inclusive resort, anyway. *shrugs*

(I didn't tip him, though, just dropped a smaller-than-my-usual-wont sum for the whole wait staff.)
