Simon & Schuster Price Drops?

Oct 10, 2012 15:07

I don't know if this is a trend or just coincidence, but in the past couple of hours, eReaderIQ has informed me that two titles on my watch list, both published by S&S, have dropped from $12.99 to $8.27.  If you've been waiting for a price drop on an S&S book, you might want to check it out.   It also looks to me, though I can't verify it, that a lot of Star Trek titles (sold by S&S under the Pocket Books imprint) have dropped to under $6.

Amazon is still showing agency pricing e.g. "this price was set by the publisher" so I'm not sure what the deal is, although S&S is one of the settling publishers in the ebook pricing lawsuit.  This might be a precursor to the termination of the agency agreements, which means prices could drop even more in coming days.  But you never know.  Ebook pricing often seems as mysterious as airline tickets.

ETA:  eReaderIQ's advanced search is showing a bunch of price-dropped books at $8.27 and $5.51 from this publisher, including titles by Mary Higgins Clark, Sandra Brown, Meg Cabot, Jeffrey Deaver and others.
