Things I Learned as a Fanfic Fan That Are Not Covered in the Kindle FAQ

The recent post about downloading from AO3 has completely shamed me, because I've been doing that on my Kindle Keyboard for nearly two years now and never posted about how to get around the site's overload errors that were happening when I got my Kindle, or about how to deal with the glitch the previous poster mentioned. This is a fabulously helpful post, so thank you! For one thing I think you've managed to explain/find a solution to the hiccups my Kindle has developed lately (hint: it's crammed with fanfic). So it looks like I'll have to spend some time removing fics from My Precioussss! Ah well, I've got a Desert Island Fanfics collection and I can always keep the best of the best in there ;-)

Great advice about the occasional reboot although my cranky Precioussss is rendering this academic by spontaneously rebooting itself from time to time. Maybe if it stops doing that I'll help it out for old time's sake as you've recommended.

I just presumed that everyone else was doing what I was doing, and now I really wish I'd shared.

Meh, I think we all feel this way. I was the person who posted to the MobileRead forum earlier this summer to ask what the deal was with the new monthly 50MB cap on free 3G downloads, 'cause I'd just hit my 50MB limit and I was flummoxed. Turns out I was literally the first person anywhere to put my head over the parapet raise it publicly, even though really I assumed I was the last person to have noticed and had simply missed out on earlier discussions. *sigh*

P.S. The monthly cap has been imposed only on customers outside the United States and the UK - so far - so if you haven't noticed anything, that's probably why. (Or, you use 3G a lot less than I do ;-)
