Here are my answers to the unpopular opinions meme.
vandonovan asked about Blake's 7:
While I think that many of the actual episodes of series 4 were horrible, the emotional arcs for Avon (becoming more and more unstable) and Vila (sinking into depression, apathy, and alcoholism) make a lot of sense to me. I don't find the S4 developments out of character for either of them.
And regardless of how the BBC designed the logo, the show's name is properly spelled Blake's 7, not Blakes 7 or Blakes7.

Martha is awesome, but to be as great at some of her fans claim, she'd have to be god. Also, the fact that the Doctor wasn't in love with her doesn't make him evil. Love has nothing to do with merit or fairness; it's irrational.

Buffy should have let Giles kill Dawn in "The Gift." It's not that I hate Dawn (although I'm not crazy about her) but valuing the life of a loved one over the lives of six billion other people is not, in fact, good ethics. If anything, it's a kind of selfishness. (Also, Giles should not have asked Buffy's permission, he should have just done it. Making the hard choices is what Watchers are for.)

I don't think I have any truly unpopular opinions about him. Maybe the closest is my belief that the way he treats Karl at the end of The Year of Intelligent Tigers is unspeakably cruel, and made even more horrible by how self-righteous the Doctor is about it.

I don't think that any of my serious opinions about Avon are all that unpopular, so here's a trivial one: Avon is a hundred times more attractive in the relatively plain outfits from S1 and S2 than he is in any of the leather gear. He's at his absolute sexiest in the grey jacket, although I also have a weakness for the sailor suit.

At the moment, the Owen-Jack friendship/rivalry/hatred/Owen's-daddy-issues thing is the only relationship on the show that doesn't make me want to claw my eyes out. I could almost ship them, on the grounds that the show's two worst bastards deserve each other. Especially if it would mean that Ianto found a nice boyfriend who wouldn't pine after The Girl He Can't (For Some Unexplained Reason) Be With and Gwen stopped betraying Rhys.
