oh dear

Two pages into reading an EDA, I encounter this sentence:

Krzysztof Szemplinski was coming to the end of another incident-filled shift of taxi driving through the dangerous streets of Belgium’s capital.

It really doesn't encourage me to continue. It encouraged me to laugh, but not in the good way.

(Note: The EDA in question is Escape Velocity, by Colin Brake. I've seen Brake described [by lcsbanana, I believe] as the worst writer in the history of the world, and I'm already inclined to believe it. But I can't not read Escape Velocity. It's the end of the Earth Arc, the reunion of my darling boys, and the introduction of Anji! Plus, I'm curious to see if it's actually worse written than Steve Emmerson's dreadful Casualties of War or more annoying than the last fifty Sue-tastic pages of Lance Parkin's Father Time.)
