*is puzzled*

So does this mean that nobody wants a ficlet from me anymore? Because that's kind of depressing.

Or are you all just shy? (Don't be.)

ETA: At the time of posting, the previous ficlet had been up for half a day and nobody had made a request. But a request has come in. Thank you!!

No, it means I'm feeling seriously disentitled and can't ask for anything because I'm convinced I really am too much work to be friends with.

Julia, I'll get over it, but a bad patch of reality and being kicked around in Email and then defriended has pretty much done me in, for now

I don't know if you like internet hugs, but in case you do, I offer them. I'm so sorry that you're feeling bad. And also sorry that I often look at your beautiful flower pictures and then don't comment on your posts. I suck. :-(

If it helps, *I* certainly don't feel that you're too much work. On the contrary. You're one of the online people I like and trust the most.

Thanks ever so for that- this is being a Very Bad Day, complete with my not-quite-21-year-old son having a fender bender on the way to work, and kind words are balm.

Julia, April has been difficult

Ah, okay. That's cool. (But don't hesitate to request at some point, if you feel like it. If everybody holds back, I get no requests and I feel all unloved.)

I already made a request, and thus would feel weird and obnoxious doing it again!

Silly. I mean, it's true that I'd prefer people not make two requests really close together. But you're not disqualified forever, either!

Then can I have some more Nick/Warrick? *looks hopeful* The two of them at a crime scene with some fluff and/or angst (your choice) would be nice.

See, see, I still feel like I'm cheating or something!

(Hmm, I need more CSI icons...)

Oh, dear. The thing is, I'm only taking one request a day, and you missed today's. I don't dare to take more than one request at once, because if I get a backlog I'll get guilt and anxiety, and that's not good.

So, could you bear the request in mind for another day? I really would like to write more Nick/Warrick.

In my case, it means I have a severe prompt-giving dysfunction: I give the worst, least-writeable prompts the world has ever known. Even with single-word prompts, I can effectively stifle all creativity. So I try very hard to limit myself to giving prompts only during Yuletide, when I basically have to; the rest of the year, writers are free from the horror. (I don't always succeed at this, and may actually experience a moment of supreme weakness if you keep this up for much longer, in which case you just might get a prompt from me. But I try to be good. I really do!)

*backs away slowly*

But, seriously, do feel free to offer a prompt if you want to.

. . . I don't know you very well? So I wasn't commenting. But!

1) Jenny Sparks, 1957-1967, the music scene, in the U.K. or the U.S.

or

2) Rose from Sandman, now, in 2007, a slice of her normal life. Springtime.

Heh. If I limited it to people who know me well, it would be a very small pool of prompts.

So do feel free. Thing is, I'm limited myself to one prompt a day. And in order to give everybody a chance (and to not have a backlog) I've got it set up so that the first person to make a request on my post will have their request written. So, um, keep the prompts in mind? (At the time I did this post, my previous story post had been up for eight hours and there'd been no request. Hence my wibbling.)
