Here's one last ficlet from the International Day of Slash, when I was taking requests. This one's for likeadeuce, who asked for Logan/Scott and shirts. Movieverse, set post-X2.

The Trouble )

*is all aflail*

Thank you, this is perfection.

He's a boy scout and he don't get that the whole world's not a fucking Jamboree. And then the shirts being both Jean-and-Scott and Logan being kind of sweet and kind of stalkerish all at once.

That's the trouble with Scott Summers. He makes you crazy.

Yes, indeed. Thanks once again!

This was really fun for me to write--I'm getting interested in the pairing, so this let me test the waters. Glad you enjoyed it!

more L/S between X2 & X3 would be a lovely lovely thing. I'm kind of shocked that the fandom hasn't been inundated with it -- though I may be slightly biased ;).

After reading this, I was thinking about writing a sort of remix/mirror image, which would be Scott's POV on the same thing. Would you mind?

*nods* I have seen a certain amount, but mostly it's stuffed full of all the dreadful hurt/comfort cliches you'd expect. Which doesn't exactly encourage me to seek out more. (I wonder if better writings are avoiding it just because it does have that cliche-fest potential? I think good writing would transcend that, but it's always scary to embark on something people might dismiss out of hand.)

Scott's POV on the same thing. Would you mind?

That would be fabulous. Can't wait to read it.

Followed a link here from likeadeuce

This was wonderful, loved the tension. It's easy to imagine Logan being baffled by thoughts like that. And the way he folded the laundry, that was a brilliant expression of confusion and caring.

the way he folded the laundry

I'm glad you liked that bit. I almost took it out, because I realized it could seem incredibly out of character for him. But that was (part of) the point--that he's all discombobulated and not behaving like his usual self.

Thanks so much!

I love your writing, I do. I saw your comment to Gloss that you were getting flailish about it lately, but it seriously doesn't show ( ... )

It's not quite the dynamic I see, either in movies or comics.

Can you explain what you mean a bit more?

This pairing was tricky for me to write, since I'm new to the characters, and in addition, at the time I watched the films I wasn't particularly watching for them or their interactions.

I also think Logan sees Scott differently to how you've shown here

Again, I'm not quite sure what you mean. The belittling in the opening paragraph, perhaps? One of the things I was trying to convey, but maybe it didn't across well enough, is that Logan doesn't entirely mean that stuff himself. Yes, he thinks Scott can be a bit of a goody-goody. But Logan's also defending himself from a painful, confusing, unwilling attraction, and he still has big jealousy issues about Jean. He's all over the place, emotionally, and his self-description at the end as "crazy" isn't entirely an exaggeration ( ... )

Can you explain what you mean a bit more?First: it's a really, really common - the most common, actually - interpretation of Scott and Logan that I think you're driving at here - the more antagonistic, rivalry dynamic. It's just one I don't take from any S&L (aside from very, very early stuff) - and that's just my personal interpretation of the canon, etc. Comics are funny like that. *g ( ... )

Also, I just read Return of the King in Ultimate, where Logan tries to kill Scott in order to make a move on Jean. And that's probably colored my view of Logan and the Logan-Scott dynamic just a trifle. :-)

Vivid moment of characterization which works really well, allowing us to inhabit the characters from the movie who are perfectly recognizable.
