Names are up at the Remix Redux, so authors can now claim their stories.

First, I want to thank moosesal, who remixed my due South story Waiting for the Weird. moosesal rewrote it from Fraser's POV and produced the sweet Nothing to Wish For (The Wedding That Wasn't So Weird)Second, I can tell you what I wrote! I wasn't surprised that nobody guessed, since this ( Read more... )

gah. that was *amazing*.

There's something about the juxtaposition between form and content that makes it incredibly heartbreaking. I mean, it's a friggin' mirror talking, and yet we see exactly enough of Lupin to be devastated.

There were a couple of lines in particular that knocked me right over. Like,

Yes, I used to think. This is what I'm for. Show me loveliness, and I'll double it.

and

Master Remus wants a story he can live in, a story he can shelter behind. A story with the hope unbroken. A story that goes: once upon a time, Remus Lupin loved Sirius Black. The end.

Just...gah. Fills me with achy shivery loveliness.

Anyway, well done.

*is bowled over by wonderful feedback*

I'm so glad to hear that the OC thing and the character voice worked for you. I'm getting the sense that they didn't, for a lot of people (at least, if the resounding lack of feedback from Potterverse folks is any indication). I mean, *I* like it (it's not every day you get to write from the POV of a [sort of] inanimate object), but maybe it's not Remus-n-Sirius enough for the fans of the ship. Or something.

Anyway, thanks so much.

*is deeply confused by this*

Granted, I don't ship Remus and Sirius very hard. It's more a case of, "oh yeah, that's the stuff slashy subtext is made of" but it doesn't hit me in my warm gooey places. Really, there aren't any HP ships that do---my interest in HP is about other things.

The fact that this story hit me the way it did in spite of this fact is a testament to your skill.

I love all the changes you've made to this. It's just amazing now (you improved a couple of things that I don't think I commented on, because I couldn't quite pin my finger on what felt off about them).

I love this story so much -- bravo!

I'm glad you liked the additional changes. Fortunately I finished this story early enough that I had time to let it sit, and on re-reading I found some places where the transitions weren't quite right or a little more information was needed.

Thanks again for beta-ing, and I'm delighted that you enjoyed the finished product!

I cannot understand the lack of response either. This fic is a gem, a beautifully polished gem! This is one story I shall not be forgetting.
