the cooker stands
as a place
to hold dirty dishes
diet is declining
into the same mess
as is shown privately
in the decay of the space
lack of pride
what must they think?

has noticed this decline
for self-pity is fine
if not accompanied by
the pity of others (they?)

who to blame
no one
except oneself
need to smarten up
grow up
achieve more
worry less
drinking not to forget but to fill time
must be replaced
with what
with a more beneficial strategy
must not fall behind
must set achievable goals
must not succumb to laziness
must not lapse into
unfavourable comparisons
with song lyrics
or fictional characters
having more interesting lives
than i
can ever hope to live

must atone
for previous mistakes
and learn
that i can
