i forgot babies, too. :( the novel you are thinking of is "bet me" by jennifer crusie! remember how pissed i was when i got to the end and all the sex was abstractly-described? fucking shafted. anyway, it turns out that you have to take this big test in order to become an actuary, so after he graduates from college (dear god, don't strike me down for cradle-robbing) he is taking a year off just to study. (a YEAR OFF?? to STUDY??? wtf alternate universe.)
