Dark chocolate raspberry creme, from a box of Godiva chocolates my husband gave to me on White Day (3/14) - the day after I learned I had a very real reason to worry about diabetes. This is the second chocolate I've had from the box.
My hands were full, so I popped the choc in my mouth - and immediately wished that I had not, that I had eaten it in tiny tiny bites so as to make it last. But the deed was done. The confection was in my mouth. I let it slowly melt, savouring the interplay of chocolate, sugar and raspberry. As it happens, it lasted much much longer than it would have the other way and I was surprised and delighted. I felt as though I'd never truly appreciated a good piece of candy, as though this was, in some very true way, the very first time I'd ever really experienced chocolate before.
It will be another several months before I indulge again. I hope I remember.
