I opened the hs library two days this week (Monday and Tuesday) which means that I went to bed fairly early and got up way too early both days. Tuesday night I stayed up late, Wednesday morning I was sleeping in when the phone rang shortly before 7 - the high school calling, would I come in to sub for a special aide. Umm, no. Not enough time to get everything together, sorry.
Yesterday afternoon, I got another call from the hs, the person in charge of arranging substitutes hadn't been able to contact her to see if she'd be in today, could I be available if she didn't show (with the understanding that I might not be needed)? I agreed - got up early today and was bumbling around getting ready for the day when I realised that I had the gut conviction that I wouldn't be subbing. When I recognised that, I pushed myself to get myself ready. I was preparing to go get dressed when I rec'd the call that the aide was in, I wasn't needed.
I don't know how often these "gut convictions" are correct, I don't dare trust them. So, I'm recording this one.
