Weather today

May 30, 2011 10:17

An overcast day but it appears that the big thunderstorm is tracking south and will miss us. Only a scatter of raindrops so far - I'm the only one up, with all the windows and doors open, so I'm keeping a very close eye on the sky. If the skies open, I'll have to hop is pdq to get everything closed.

M and I went out to eat at the Olive Garden last night. I ordered some dish of chicken breast covered with an alfredo and spinach sauce and 3 lasagne noodles wrapped around a cheese filling. I ate all of the latter (and the salad) and we finished with some Italian fried dough squares and I felt ... stuffed. I'll have the chicken for lunch. Portions are sized for very large at restaurants, it seems. Even M didn't finish his entree, and he was still complaining of overeating.

I find that I am missing the books Bone Crossed (Patricia Briggs) and Small Favor (Jim Butcher) - I have the books before and after, but not those two. It is a puzzlement.

I'm posting the story "Suiridhe a' Mhadaidh-ruaidh" (The Courtship of Master Fox) in messages on the Facebook game of Fairyland and also to my puxill journal at http://puxill.livejournal.com/302527.html. Every morning, I simplify, update and translate another paragraph to post to the game and then add that paragraph to the ones that came before. It's ... an interesting exercise. The original was meant to be read aloud and so there are a lot of places where the narrator lets off with a string of very similar adjectives - many of them no longer in use. I hope I can keep it up.
