Last night in a chat with a friend, I mentioned that I take antihistimines to deal with low-level allergies. She wanted to know what it was - exactly - being as she's in England and not the States. When I went checking, I also found a listing of side effects. The ones that struck me as pertinent are fuzzy vision at times, ringing in the ears (where else would there be ringing?), dry eyes, pounding heart. I experience all of these, have ascribed them to increasing age and, the pounding heart at least, to an over-indulgence of tea. Which is kind of funny. You see, when I'm not feeling well due to allergies, I not only increase the dose of the antihistimine, but I also drink a lot of tea to soothe my throat and settle my stomach. Then my heart starts pounding and the only thing that I notice is the tea, not the medication.
Anyway, I am trying an experiment for the next few days - I'm not taking the antihistimine and I'll be watching to see what effects I notice from it. I suspect that the first one will be an increased use of kleenex.
