16th Oct. Snuff is reaching the limits of his endurance in dragging the dead officer to the river - and he's hit a boggy spot. City police are questioning the players and others in the neighbourhood - the vicar is sitting in on the questioning and insisting that someone of them is lying. Jack asks Larry Talbot about his role in the Game and Larry is very evasive. He says that anticipation is his forte but he never tells anyone all that he anticipates because it might throw it off and he'd have to start again. Jack admits that it sounds like gibberish to him but that he can sense a meaning behind it and it would be enough for him if Larry would tell him what he can when he can. Snuff goes out and does some more dragging. Graymalk is worried about his progress but Snuff is just too tired.
