Na Gurnaidh - Tiwsday 20th Lightningmoon
Have performed a lineage check on the apparently deceased hatchling. The egg was bred on archangelbeth's scroll, out of two Waverunner dragons. As far as we can determine, the egg must have been stolen out of her hatchery some time in the past week or so. How and why it ended up at Na Gurnaidh we have no idea.
Simon is well on his way to being fully recovered. Professor Witchhazel could not stay long after the ritual, however, because there are others she must help and it is so difficult for one of the tree-races to travel. I did ask why the school did not ask her predecessor in the position of Alchemy instructor to help out in the crisis and the answer was not at all what I was expecting.
The former Alchemy instructor is the source of the illness! The reason she left Aldwyns was that she was discovered in practicing death magic.
As it happens, we were quite fortunate in Simon's case. Some of his classmates who were so affected have disappeared and are believed to be victims of their former instructor. Professor Witchhazel has set protections on Simon to prevent any recurrance of the spell's effects. She also handed me some wanted posters with Darkspell's picture and details of her crimes, to put up in the village, even though Adlwyns is the last place she was spotted. and asked me to put it up in the village.
And Volitak Nuva refuses to leave the Nursery corridor. I don't know if he thinks he's protecting that poor wee corpse or guarding it but I am getting rather fed up with his attitude.
