There had been plans to go to a nearby town for books, plans were called on account of snow, but they would have been cancelled anyway - M was feeling fragile again. (Eating all of the zeppoli from Olive Garden for breakfast didn't help!) And there was snow. From about noon to midnight. Snow.
I spent the day collecting seeds, planting them, and sending flowers to random folk with increasingly random msgs. I picked up another chocolate lover egg, found it had one hour to hatch and tried frantically to get the necessary views. I failed.
I also picked up a black striped eggs. Very lovely. Then I looked at the lineage - entirely white striped dragons! Not only that, but this breeding couple has only produced 2 white striped dragons, in spite of numerous offspring (4 black, 4 red, 2 blue and 1 green). I ... did not know that was possible.
I spent most of the day transcribing the first story in Arabian Nights from pdf to text file and then updating the spelling. The Gaelic is most definitely NOT based on Dalziel's version and I find I do not like the version that they used. Today, I'm going to try to bring it more in keeping with Dalziel's - the language is simpler and more interesting. I feel it's enough to say that the merchant was rich rather than go on and on about HOW he was rich. I also really REALLY do not like the merchant being thanked by his in-laws for beating his wife their daughter into submission - even if she was being an idiot. IMHO, that did NOT demonstrate his wit or cunning. It was sheer brutality.
