Emotions run high during this season, there's a lot of tension, a lot of expectation - not only in the presents, but also in people. Families expect us to behave a certain way and sometimes ... we can't live up to those expectations. Sometimes family members demand that we show our appreciation for their efforts in things that ... we didn't ask them to do in the first place and that we don't really want in the second.
We can't really blame family for not knowing what we'd like if we habitually hide our true selves from them. This season, try to give the gift of communication. Share your passions, your interests with your family - even the ones that you think will mock you for what you like. Give the gift of yourself - in the end, that is the most precious gift you can give.
