When I was in college, I worked in the cafeteria. One of my jobs was to wash down the tables after the line shut down and every day - the DJ at the college radio would play Bohemian Rhapsody. Since I never paid any attention to the babble, and I don't tend to recognize voices, I didn't know until MUCH later that I knew him. His name was Chris, he was best friends with Robert ... Hall - who played Riff-Raff in the Rocky Horror Picture Show floor show midnights at the theatre a couple of streets over from the dorm and ... he worked in the Math Lab in Oliver Hall. Chris, that is, not Robert.
Robert and I once went to see a movie together - either Casablanca or Young Frankenstein - black and white movie. Didn't mean anything ... well, to me ... but it was enough to upset my friend Robin Blodgett who had a bit of a crush on Robert. She got angry with me, I remember, which really didn't make any sense seeing as she never told ... him or me or ... well before the movie. I think it must have been Casablanca because I recall he was surprised that I'd never seen it.
He was obsessed with baseball, I remember that - which was another thing that distressed him about me. I like tennis and soccer but only for the scenery. Baseball and football I find extremely boring and basketball is, well, frightening. Granted, they wear shorts but ... why would I want to look at giraffe legs?
