Yesterday Matt & I had a terrific day. The weather sucked: it was cold, rainy and windy. However, the rain was only spitting most of the time so we were able to still walk around Cleveland.
We started out eating at this place right near our home: Minerva's Family Restaurant. We had been meaning to try it for some time since we can walk to it from our house (which we did) so we decided to head there for lunch before we set out for our day in the city.
It was pretty good. It looked like a diner but a bit nicer & it had a definite Greek feeling to it. Our waitress was great and the salad bar and soup were delicious. Our appetizer was just okay but our main meals were out of this world. Then we went next door to the RTA which is the Cleveland bus system and picked up some info regarding what lines to take to get to the various places we wanted to see in the future. I wound up driving to the city yesterday but we definitely want to try the bus in the future. I have no issues with driving in Cleveland, the traffic is pretty tame, but I like public transportation with the current gas prices, you know.
Anyway, we went to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame which is something I have been wanting to do since I moved here. I really enjoyed it. I love music and its' origins and this museum had it all. Plus the museum is not that big yet so it was manageable and when Matt & I started to get tired...we were done.
We then walked to Tower City & Public Square which I also wanted to see and it was nice. The walk, despite the cold, was easy and fairly pleasant and the Mall was nice. It has tons of really nice stores, a movie theater, great eateries, including Mortons, a real favorite, & a tiny but clean food court.
After that we took the tram back to our car (my feet were killing me by then) and we drove back home.
Then we wanted to go bowling which is something neither of us has done in ages but we both enjoy. We looked up and found this place by us called Lakewood Lanes. When we arrived it kind of looked like a dump but when we went inside it was great: 10 lanes, a great bar, a large eatery and a 70's cover band. Oh how I love the Midwest. ;) We played and I did really well for being rusty. I won all three games and got to watch Matt nearly slide down the whole lane with his ball. lol!!!
We left and grabbed some late night grub and went home. A fun day!
Now today is Matt's birthday! #30. He is still sleeping so I am off to get my nails done, get his cake and card and get back before he wakes up.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!!!
