Stole this one off
buffyaddict13, who stole it off someone else:

1) Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2) Make a post and talk about the icons I chose.
3) Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4) This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!

I'll do this for the first FIVE commenters - because more than that and I'll never get back to you. Also, someone should re-explain to me how to include images in comments BECAUSE I ALWAYS FUCK IT UP AND WIND UP COMMENTING WITH A WHITE BOX/TINY RED X!

So, the buffster asked about THESE isons:

A long time back, when I first started making icons (and did not have photoshop yet) I ran across this amazing graphics site (which of course I never bookmarked) and gakked a ton of illos from Mexican pulp horror novels. I don't remember what it is that's out of frame of this woman (possibly a mad scientist or a werewolf or a zombie pinata?) but I adored her body language and her dangly cigarette. SHe really seemed to be saying 'shit' to me, and since I tend to say 'shit' a lot, I made an icon.

This was another early icon - me just having gotten photoshop and trying desperately to figure shit out. I took Sam from the famous publicity photo from 'Scarecrow', painstakingly removed Kim Manners, flipped Sammy around, and threw him behind the ravished buildings from a screen cap of the original 'Godzilla'. I could probably do it a lot better now (like, not make the sky all weird because I was blending out the ACTUAL Godzilla, and making it more focused, but there's a certain naive, peasant charm in this icon for me - like, ambition met half way that made me proud.

This was another graphic site find - but this site was covers from old sci-fi comic books from the 30s and 40s. I don't remember the title of this issue, but I really liked the orange color, and I loved the idea of this robot standing for years at the side of his dead and slowly decaying 'master'. I think I was really depressed and sad when I made this icon. That's usually when I use it, too...when I'm feeling especially lonely.

This one came about because of some ridiculously odd comment thread
big_pink  and I sewed up ages ago. We had maybe gotten in a fight over poutine v. chili fries, and our metaphorical argument became peppered (pun intended) with negative food concoctions. In addition to the taco of hatred, I believe the original icon series also contained the following: The Croissant of Lurve, The Shamepuff, The Dark Chocolate Bon-=Bon of Doom, and the NOT POUTINE. I think there was one with meat, but I can't remember. This and the shamepuff are the only ones I kept around, but I think BP still has the croissant, bon-bon, and poutine icons.

What's to explain. I like Dean. I like Dean peeing. He is making a pee face in this icon. There's no cleverness involved whatsoever.

This is a manipulated still and trunkated quote from the movie 'Brick' WHICH IS BRILLIANT AND SHOULD BE SEEN IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT. The protagonist is confronting a second-tier foil in an alley, when the foil's buddies make as to possibly try and beat up our hero (played exquisitely by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) he says something to the effect of: 'Go on, you crackhead, Make your move, 'cause I've got all five senses and I slept last night, which puts me six up on the lot of you.' Niiiiice.
